Satin Midi Dress
I have been eyeing the satin midi dress and skirt trend for a while. I have seen so many satin pieces and while I love them, there is something about them. They remind me of the late 90’s when I was in high school, especially the slip dresses. It is always a little hard for me to jump on the trend bandwagon for something that I experienced first hand. A good example would be biker shorts. I just can’t do it. I wore them as a kid with my t-shirt tied and my hair in a side pony haha! Because of that, I am not sure I can fully embrace the trend with a modern spin.
That being said, when I saw this wine satin midi, I knew it was perfect for me. It has a classic and elegant style. I love the high neck with the keyhole cut out. It is fitted in the bodice and the long sleeves with buttons adds a certain amount of drama to the look. I have always been a fan of the red/wine color and the jewel tones are perfect for the fall and winter months.
Holiday Party Perfection
Depending on your personal style and where you are headed in this satin midi dress, you can dress it up or down. I wore it to a fall wedding recently exactly as I have it styled here. I simply added some classic jewelry from Kendra Scott and my favorite nude Valentino dupe heels. If you are going to a holiday party, you could add a pop of green with a jacket like this one. I also think it would look beautiful with gold shoes and some statement gold jewelry.
How do you feel about the satin midi dress trend? Is it for you or is it too reminiscent of the 90’s? I have linked all the items I am wearing, along with all of my favorite satin dresses and skirts for you below. Some are super reasonably priced. Check them out and let me know your favorites below.
