Today on the blog, I wanted to feature the plaid blazer you need for Fall. It is no secret that I am a workwear girl. One of the tricks I have found in my career is to choose pieces that are versatile. I often wear staple pieces, like this blazer with a lot of different items. It is alway amazing to me how you can completely change the look of something just by the way you choose to style it for the day.
I received this gorgeous plaid blazer courtesy of 1.State prior to attending The Blog Societies Conference. While at Barnsley Resort, my friend Michelle and I took a ton of photos. I have been wanting to share this look for a few weeks, but the weather has me feeling Summer and not Fall yet. It has been in the 90’s in the mountains of NC more this September than any other time I can remember. I love hot weather, but I am also a four seasons girl. I am ready to see the leaves change and have crisp, cool mornings. And mostly, I am ready to wear my fall wardrobe without feeling silly.
The Plaid Blazer
If you look in my closet, I have about 15 different blazers. I wear them year round, especially my solid ones. But in the Fall, plaid is a trend I don’t think I will ever get over. This particular blazer has different shades of brown, tan and black with a thin red/orange stripe that pops. It is perfect for the office, but also perfect for the weekend. I love that it is double breasted too. It is so flattering. And the ruched sleeves just add some fun details and interest to the design.
Today I paired the blazer with my favorite ruched dress from Leith. This exact color is not available since it is from last year. However, I have some similar versions linked. Or you could also pair it with a brown or black sheath dress for classic style. I added these cute open toe booties that are extremely reasonably priced. The fact that they are open toed means can wear them even in this hot Fall weather. I finished the look with some classic gold jewelry.
I mentioned earlier that the great thing about is blazer is the versatility you can get from it. With this blazer, I will pair it with skinny jeans, cream lace cami and flats for a casual date night look. Additionally, it would be perfect with black faux leather leggings, a black shell and some fun statement jewelry in the red/orange color. Or you can always pair it with a basic brown, tan, or black dress of any style. Which way is your favorite? And do you love blazers as much as me?
