Styling A Retro Dress In A Modern World

It has been a week or so since I was able to blog last, but today I am back with a gorgeous retro dress from Chicwish.  The color is a gorgeous sky blue and the ruffles are trimmed in white.  I know we are getting closer to fall, but let’s be honest; in the South, I can usually wear my summer dresses until the middle of October.

The Retro Dress

Retro is pretty on trend these days, but I have always been a fan.  I love to look at photos from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s from style icons like Jackie Kennedy.  They are so classic, feminine and elegant, just like this retro dress.  The material on this dress is very soft and comfortable.  The only issue that I have is that in order to get a dress that fits in the bust, it is a little tight in the hips.  But with some Spanx it works just fine.  😉

The Shoes Good Enough For Royalty

I have also been looking for a good pair of white heels but I struggled finding a classic pair that I loved.  But I found these from Aldo.  They are very similar to the ones that Kate Middleton wore to Wimbledon.  They are very affordable and comfortable.  I love the pop of white with the trim and jewelry and shoes. It just makes a statement to me.

My Sentimental Jewelry

The last touch of my look day is completed with the bracelet.  My sister bought it for me on Mother’s Day.  If you have been around for a while, you know my Mama passed away in March.  She had this bracelet made from a card with my Mama’s actually handwriting.   It is something I will always treasure.  And I am so lucky to have something like this to remember her.  If you have lost a loved one, this would be a perfect sentimental piece to add to your collection.

I hope you all have a great week.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I have so many new posts I am working on, but please let me know if you want something specific.
