Five Reasons To Attend A Blogger Conference
You may have seen that a couple of weeks ago I attended my very first blogger conference. It was hosted by The Blog Society and was held at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, GA. I have to tell you, I was super excited but also kind of nervous to attend. But I am so glad that I went! It was one of the best things I believe I could have done to invest in my blog. If you are a blogger and considering a conference, let me encourage you to do it. Here are my Three Reasons To Attend A Blogger Conference!
It Is A Fun Getaway
I don’t know about you, but if I can come up with an excuse to have a fun getaway with the girls, I am all about it! What better reason to attend a conference than to get away from normal life. TBSCon was at Barnsley Resort and was so gorgeous! It is the epitome of southern charm and is nestled in the mountains of North Georgia. They have cabins you can rent or you can get a room in the Inn. It is such a quant and fun resort and I can’t wait to go back and explore it even more.
You Are Surrounding Yourself With Like Minded People
The great thing about a blogger conference is that you are surrounded by other bloggers that have the same goals as you do. Some may be larger scale bloggers than you and some may be smaller than you, but the one thing you all want? To succeed! In my opinion, when you are around others that are similar and have the same goals, your energy increases, your creativity thrives and you just leave feeling like you can take on the world.
The Learning Environment is Amazing
TBSCon offered some great classes this year. I learned so much that I have already implemented into my blog such as, organization from Kate Waldo Co., perfecting pitching from Erica Ligenza, SEO tips from My Style Vita and so many more! I can’t begin to tell you the amount of information that I walked away with on Sunday. And we all know one thing to be true: Knowledge Is The Key to Success!
Brand Connections
The Blog Society lined up so many great brands for bloggers to connect with at the conference. You can see in my photos above that Marc Fisher was there and hosted an amazing lunch. Yankee Candle had a fabulous cocktail hour and dinner for us one evening. On the opening night I was able to connect with brands like Kendra Scott, La Croix (who hosted breakfast at the Ruins), Grayson, Drybar, Aerie and so many more! It is always so nice when you can meet a brand face to face and build a relationship.
New Friends
I am a firm believer that you can never have enough friends in life. And the best part for me about attending a blogger conference is that you can make new friends! My friend Michelle who you have seen in a few of my other posts, attended the conference with me and we roomed together. While there, we met so many great people and formed friendships. But one that sticks out for me as someone that will be in my life forever, is Ashley from Life With Ashley T. Michelle and I connected with her on the first night and we had an instant connection. I am so grateful that we all attended TBSCon and met!
Will I Go Back?
Before I went to TBSCon I wasn’t sure how I would feel afterwards. But after attending, I can say that I will go back annually, without a doubt! It was a conference that reset my blog for me and has me energized to succeed again. I am already counting down to the 2020 event and it hasn’t even been planned yet!
Great post! I always wondered about these blogger conferences. 🙂
