Trend Alert! Workwear Wednesday-How To Implement Puff Sleeve Styles Into Your Office Attire While Still Looking Professional And Modern
The puff sleeve trend is back and I am here for it! I am an eighties baby, so when I first heard puff sleeves a year or so ago, I immediately thought, not shoulder pads! Haha! And even though some of that is around, it isn’t what I am talking about today. The puff sleeve trend that I am loving is a more romantic and flowing sleeve. But I do love some of the more structured looks too!
Fashion trends ebb and flow. Some I love….yay for a return of flare jeans! But some I hate, saying no to biker shorts. LOL! But since we are all individuals it is important to find your own personal style. I view my style as feminine and classic. But I do like to throw some fun things in the mix from time to time to add a little edge to my style. I actually think that my own style has emerged more the older I get. I am more confident in myself at 38 than I was at 18 or 28. Are you? How do you describe your style?
Implementing The Puff Sleeve Trend
Work wear makes up the vast majority of my wardrobe. I work at a large ophthalmology practice and manage the human resources and marketing, so it is important to look professional and put together. That being said, I am also a style blogger, so I tend to dress on trend but classic at the same time. There are a lot of options for adding the puff sleeve trend to your closet, without looking like you’re trying too hard to be trendy. I have found a variety of dresses and tops that can be paired with dress pants that will give you the fashion look you desire; without looking like Lady Gaga at work. 😉 (For the record, I love Gaga, she just isn’t always work appropriate, LOL!) I have all of my favorite options at the bottom of the post for you to easily shop!
Toile Puff Sleeve Dress
For today’s post, I am sharing a gorgeous puff sleeve toile dress. It is under $20! And I think it is perfect for adding the puff sleeve trend to your wardrobe without breaking the bank. If you are tall, it might be a little short on you. However, I am 5’4″ and it is a great length on me. I am wearing a small and say it fits true to size. It has a tie belt that comes with it, but you could easily switch it out for a solid white one to mix up the look. The puff sleeves are feminine and not too crazy, so I think it is perfect for the office.
The toile print is makes it feel very Parisian to me, which I love. A classic blue and white pattern is always perfect to me. Blue is also THE color this year, so look for it everywhere! I added my favorite white booties and think it has the perfect mix of classic and on trend pieces. I also added some fun statement earrings that are only $3! They are a great compliment to the dress and help pull the entire look together, in my opinion! You can shop the entire look below.
