Pastel Lace Midi Skirt
If you look back at my posts on fashion, you will see a pretty distinct style trend. I love a good midi skirt. Something about the fit, modesty and feminine style is perfect for me. When I saw this pastel lace midi skirt, I knew that it would be perfect for spring, especially those days that start out cold and warm up.
In Western NC, our weather can be a bit crazy at times. Some days will be in the 70’s and the very next will be in the 40’s. This pastel lace midi skirt works so great for those weather swings. It covers more and feels a bit warmer than a shorter skirt or dress. Those that know me well, know that I have an affinity for all things girly and dressy. It is pretty rare that I wear pants to the office, just because I think dresses and skirts are more comfortable and prettier for me.
Outfit Details
It is no secret that I love Chicwish and their skirts. I have so many of them that I believe are timeless. So when I saw this pastel lace midi skirt, I knew it would go straight into the cart. The floral lace detail is gorgeous. It gives a vintage and classic look that I believe is timeless. The lavender, pink and white combination screams spring and makes me happy to know that warm weather is just around the corner.
I paired it with a beautiful white top. It has lace and pearl details as well. But not so much that it makes anything too lacy or gaudy. I wanted to have a very elegant, tasteful and modest look that is work or church appropriate. What do you think?
Current Events and Thoughts
In close, I want to express that I know and understand the current situation regarding COVID-19 has put a strain on so many people. For me, my blog and fashion is a creative outlet. It is something I can focus on besides the negative, and it provides a sense of normalcy that I need in my life.
Please know, I am praying each and every day for a resolution and for life to return to normal for us all. Industries and individuals have been impacted like never before, yet one thing remains true: God is in control. I think we all have moments of darkness in our lives that we struggle with our faith. I know that I have, especially over the last year with the loss of my mom. There is a song that I sang in my high school chamber choir class and the words have always resonated with me, for various reasons. The words were found written on the wall of a concentration camp by a jewish prisoner. I hope that they will provide a source of hope, encouragement and comfort to you, as they do to me.
The Lyrics
“I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
And I believe in love,
even when there’s no one there.
And I believe in God,
even when He is silent.
I believe through any trial,
there is always a way
But sometimes in this suffering
and hopeless despair
My heart cries for shelter,
to know someone’s there
But a voice rises within me, saying hold on
my child, I’ll give you strength,
I’ll give you hope. Just stay a little while.
I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
And I believe in love
even when there’s no one there
But I believe in God
even when He is silent
I believe through any trial
there is always a way.
May there someday be sunshine
May there someday be happiness
May there someday be love
May there someday be peace….”
