There is something about an open back or backless dress that is just gorgeous. They allow for some subtle sexiness without overdoing it. I love dresses like the one I am featuring today from Chicwish. It is the perfect mix of feminine, flirty, sexy and classy in one.
This particular dress has a beautiful peach blossom print. It also features a high-low hem with a girly ruffle, which I love. The hem reminds me of a waterfall cascading. It also has some lace cutout details around the waist that adds something unique and flirty. The best part about this dress though is that it is pretty in the front and a party in the back. I adore the lace details around the cutout in the back. It adds that extra little detail that makes the back even more on display. While I love an open back or backless dress, there are some tips you should be ready to put into place before you wear one.
Make Sure The Fit Is Right
Make sure that your dress fits tight enough in the right places. I can’t stress how important this is for your comfort! This particular dress is a little big on me, mainly because I have a small bust. I wish in hindsight I would have sized down. If I had, it would not have any gaps in the back area or feel loose.
Invest In Good Support For Your Bust
Invest in a great quality backless bra. (The one I linked was rated best overall by Good Housekeeping.) While I don’t have a big bust, I still think it is important to have the support you need to be confident. Alternatively, you can have a seamstress sew cups into your dress. For me, there isn’t much worse than feeling like you are either super flat because you have no support or added padding. That is usually my struggle. But for a larger bust, I imagine I wouldn’t want to feel like I am falling out of a dress
Showcase Your Back With An Updo
Contrary to what my photos represent, I think you should always wear your hair up with a backless or open back dress. I am just hairstyle challenged. I have like two go to styles: straight or curly. Haha! I really think it is important to let your back shine and play up the prettiest part of the dress by showcasing it. One day when I teach myself how to create a simple updo, I will retake these pictures. 😉
I hope these tips will help you the next time you decide to invest in a backless or open back dress. I have linked the one I am wearing today from Chicwish, as well as some of my other favorites you might love too. Let me know if you have other tips and tricks for helping keep things in place when you wear these dresses too. Y’all have a great week!
Love,
Laura
