Happy Valentine’s Day to each of you! I find that people either love or hate the day. To be honest, I am kind of in the middle. I really think that we should show our love for others every day. However, in honor of the day of love, I wanted to share my current top 5 best love songs. I say current, because my list changes all the time. LOL! If you click the name of the song, it is hyperlinked so you can listen to it. I would love to know which is your favorite!
Grave by Thomas Rhett
You either love Thomas Rhett or hate him. I love most of his music. This song in particular is beautifully written. Take a minute to listen, you won’t be disappointed.
“You’re my forever
My slice of heaven on this side of the Mississippi river, baby
You’re my infinity, no end to you and me come hell, fire, or rain
Baby, nothin’ can change it
No, nothin’ can change it
Ooh when the good lord calls me home and this life is through
I may be six feet deep, but I’ll still be lovin’ you
Baby, what we got won’t ever die
Can’t take diamonds, can’t take gold
But I’ll take your love with me when I go
I’m gonna take it to the grave with me”
Hero by Sturgill Simpson
I have really been on a huge Sturgill Simpson kick lately. He is an old school country artist and his lyrics are so well written. I would actually recommend that you listen to all of his albums. They are amazing! Hero is one of those songs that just takes your breath away it is so well written. It might seem like a strange on to include on a “best love song post”, but I think it describes the love between a child and a Father perfectly. And that relationship is vital.
“Cause when it all comes down to zero
There’s nothing more this life could ever give
And I know I’ll never find another hero
Not another one like him”
You Make It Look So Easy by Eric Church
If you know anything about me, you know that I am a huge Eric Church fan. I could probably compile a whole list on his songs alone. But, I wont today. Haha! That being said, this song has always been a favorite. I love the honesty and the realization that the girl is there because she wants to be and because she loves him, no matter what. After all, we are all hard to love sometimes.
“I got a hard head, I get that from my dad
And I can overreact maybe just a tad
I put up walls to show the world I’m tough
When I don’t get my way I get difficult
But when it comes to lovin’ me
Baby you make it look so easy
You’re my refuge from the road, a safe place to go
When I’m out here livin’ on this ledge
And when I’m circlin’ the drain, you keep my crazy sane
And quiet all the voices in my head
I’m probably wrong, more than I say
And I’d point that out, if you were that way
Yeah, I’m hard to love and ever harder to live with
And I know there’s days, when you just want to up and quit
But when it comes to lovin’ me
Baby you make it look so easy”
Tip of My Tongue by Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney will forever be one of my favorite artists. I saw him play at the WNC Fair when I was 16, again at the SC Fair and then I saw him in concert 17 years ago. I just love his music, mostly his older stuff. But this newer song, is one of my favorites. It has some suggestive lyrics, but to me I think it is one of the best love songs.
“Let it run, let it roll
Baby, I am under your control
Love me fast, kiss me slow
Hang on to anything you can hold
It’s a long way down
To where I wanna go
It’s a long way down
To the center of your soul
It’s a long way down
And I’m a loaded gun
But I love your salt and sugar on the tip of my tongue”
Lover by Taylor Swift
My list couldn’t be complete without a Taylor Swift song. I just love her. Lover is one of my favorite tracks from her last album. It has a 50’s vibe, but the words are perfect. It definitely makes the best love songs list.
“Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?
With every guitar string scar on my hand
I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover
My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue
All’s well that ends well to end up with you
Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover
And you’ll save all your dirtiest jokes for me
And at every table, I’ll save you a seat, lover
Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)
You’re my, my, my, my
Oh, you’re my, my, my, my
Darling, you’re my, my, my, my lover”
Red Tulle Skirt Outfit Details
I love a good tulle skirt and red can be worn at the holidays and Valentine’s Day too. You can certainly dress it up for a fancy party. But, you can always dress it down like I did here with a cute heart tee and plain white tennis shoes. I also added some fun glasses. Everyone needs a good excuse to wear them! I hope that you love this fun outfit as much as me. I have everything linked for you below! Have a great Valentine’s Day and remember, you are loved!
